iPad Program Overview
The Holy Family School iPad program began in August 2013 with fifth and eighth grades. Now, every student in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade takes part in the HFS iPad program. Fifth through eighth graders each use iPads at school and home, while kindergarten through fourth graders utilize class sets of iPads in their classrooms.
It is critical that we provide students with the tools and resources to develop the technology skills they’ll need to maximize their full potential now and in the future. The HFS iPad program allows for integration of technology throughout the curriculum.
On this website you will find information about our iPad program, including: iPad requirements, expectations for students; program details, information about theft and damage claims, internet safety and the iPad User Guide; as well as answers to frequently asked questions about the program.
If you have any other questions, please contact Ms. Erin Arnold, Technology Administrator, at [email protected].

WHY IPADS IN THE CLASSROOM?
One Device, Multiple Uses
The iPad is a truly multi-functional device, acting as a camera, web browser, communicator, word processor, musical instrument, and assessment tool, just to name a few. Replacing these items with one versatile device saves money and time. Create and Communicate 21st Century learning is not about consuming information, but rather locating it, evaluating, synthesizing it, and communicating it. The iPad is a multi-faceted device that allows discovery, creation, and communication. Intuitive and User-Friendly The iPad and it's operating system were designed with ease of use in mind. It is a completely intuitive experience for individuals of any age, allowing for more time to be spent on learning content and less on learning the technology. Personalized Learning Modern education is all about creating a personalized learning experience for each student. The iPad's capabilities make it the perfect tool for creating a differentiated learning environment in which the teacher no longer dominates instruction. 24/7 Classroom Learning is becoming an activity that largely takes place beyond the classroom walls. Harnessing the power of the Internet, the iPad allows the discussions, activities, and learning experiences to continue at all hours and from virtually any location. Quick and Dependable The iPad is up and running with the tap of a button. There is no boot up or shut down time, meaning instructional periods can actually be spent on instruction. And the all-day battery life means no frantic search for power cords during the class. Source: HTTP://WWW.IPADCLASSROOM.COM/ |
